Born January 3, 1724, in Amsterdam
Died December 4, 1768, in Amsterdam
Madame de Zuylen

Daughter of Rene de Vicq (1683-1737) and Maria Jacoba van Goor (1687-1737). Married (1739) to Diederik Jacob van Tuyll van Serooskerken. Mother of Belle de Zuylen.

Boswell first mentions "cultivating her acquaintance" on December 16, 1763.1

  • 1Although he only refers to a Madame de Zuylen (which could also be her daughter), it seems reasonable to suggest that it was indeed Jacoba Helena de Vicq he was referring to.

Unless otherwise noted, the source for a dated quotation of Boswell's is generally the corresponding volume of the Yale Trade Editions of Boswell's journals.
