The ill-fated mountaineer George Mallory's only book was "Boswell the Biographer"?
Season's greetings 2012
I would like to take the opportunity to wish all you visitors to jamesboswell.info a merry christmas and a happy new year.
This past year has been fairly eventful when it comes to James Boswell related events, with the Boswell Book Festival having taken place for the second time in the grounds of Auchinleck House, another volume of the Yale research edition of Boswell papers having been published, and it having been the 250th anniversary of the first entry in Boswell's famous London Journal.
The jamesboswell.info site itself has not been updated as much as it deserves, mostly due to time constraints on the part of the webmaster. If you are interested in helping out with updating or adding content, please contact me.
2013 should be an even bigger Boswell year, with the 250th anniversary of Boswell and Johnson's first meeting coming up on May 16, 2013 and the 3rd Boswell Book Festival taking place once again at Auchinleck House on May 17-19. I expect to visit the festival myself for the first time, and I should be happy to meet up with regulars and occassional users of this site alike.
Once again - happy holidays to you all.
