Death: 1788

Daughter of Alexander Stewart, 6th Earl of Galloway and Catherine Cochrane. Sister of Keith Stewart and John Stewart. Married (1765) to Archibald Hamilton (1740-1819), who inherited the title of 9th Duke of Hamilton 11 years after her death. They had at least six children.

Life with James Boswell

Boswell met her at Galloway House on September 25, 1762. He described her as "well-looked, sensible and agreeable when her mother is not present, of whom she stands most prodigiously in awe, which makes her appear to disadvantage".
