Son of Andrew Douglas and Mary. From ca. 1762 he attended the Westminster School. He attended Oxford from 1772 until 1779 when he received his M.A.1

Life with James Boswell

Boswell met him when visiting George's father, Boswell's friend and doctor Andrew Douglas, during his 1762-3 stay in London.
