The Year that has Passed on Jamesboswell.info

Exactly one year ago, Jamesboswell.info had been lying pretty much dormant for some time, due to limited time on the part of the webmaster and an obsolete technical platform. Most of 2018 has been spent making up for that, and the site is now well and truly ready for 2019 and the years to come!

Your positive response to the new site has been amazing, and people have already started commenting on individual articles again. Keep it coming, and don't hold back if you've got questions, comments or just observations about a specific individual, book or event.

We have also begun adding new content again, an activity which had been put on hold for a few years. Instead of adding biographies chronologically from the journals, we have chosen to take on a new approach, adding the sort of content that appears to be most requested. Therefore, we have begun updating the site with information and persons from Boswell's Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides, and later this year, we will do a special feature about the tour itself.

We are also considering which new functions or other content types to add, and we'd love to hear your thoughts about this. One feature, for which we have received several requests, is an index of Boswell's journals, making it possible to see on exactly which dates, the many persons in the journals are mentioned throughout the years. It is not going to be too difficult to create the feature itself, but it will be quite time-consuming to add the data to the individual biographies, so we might want to hear from you if you would like to volunteer some time to help us with this.

Other than that, we would just like to wish you all a Happy New Year 2019. We hope you will come back and visit throughout the year, and we promise that we will continue to add new content, reply to your questions and comments and to make sure that jamesboswell.info will continue to be the go-to place for everything Boswell in the years to come.
