Charles Ryskamp, former professor of literature at Princeton, director of the Morgan Library and later of the Frick Collection died on Friday, March 26, 2010, at the age of 81.

Better known in academic circles for his extensive studies of William Cowper, Ryskamp nevertheless co-edited one of the volumes, Boswell: The Ominous Years (1774-1776), in the Yale trade edition series of Boswell's journals, together with Frederick Pottle. At the time of his death, he was one of few surviving former editors of the trade editions.
