Daughter of Karl I of Brunswick and Phillipine Charlotte of Prussia. She became the last Abbess at the Abbey of Gandersheim, through which she was also a member of the College of the Prelates of the Rhine.

Boswell danced with the young princess at the court of Brunswick on August 13, 1764.
