An Essay on Woman (Wilkes and Potter)

In February 1764 John Wilkes, MP was expelled from the House of Commons on the grounds of "seditious libel" against named government officials in the North Briton no.45 and of "obscence and blashempous libel" because of a publication printed only in about 13 copies five years before, named An Essay on Woman.
