Isabella Mitchelson. (-1774) (aka. Mrs. Hepburn)

Daughter of John Mitchelson and Margaret Brisbane. Married (1761) to Robert Hepburn.

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell probably met her at her father's on October 28, 1762. He described the marriage between her and Robert Hepburn thus: "I was somewhat hurt to see a young fellow of twenty, possessed of twelve hundred a year, tied down to a woman elder than himself, not pretty and low bred".
