James Grant. (1738-1811) (aka. (Sir James Grant of Grant / 8th Bart of Luss))

8th Bart of Luss (1773-). Son of Sir Ludovick Grant (1707-1773) and Margaret Ogilvy (d. 1757). Married Jane Duff in 1763.

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell met a Mr. Grant, son to Sir Ludovic at Lady Frances Erskines on February 29, 1762. According to my info, Ludovick Grant had only one son , so I am pretty sure that the Mr. Grant referred to is James Grant.

According to my info, Sir Ludovick Grant of Grant only had one son , so I am pretty sure that the Mr. Grant referred to is James Grant. Also, Sir Ludovick's first wife was Marion Dalrymple (d. 1735) who was an aunt of David Dalrymple's (which doesn't prove anything, of course, but suggests that Boswell knew (of) Sir Ludovic, making it probable that he is in fact the Sir Ludovic referred to).
