Biography

William Havard. (ca. 1710-1778) (aka. Havard the Actor)

Actor and dramatist. He wrote the tragedies Scanderbeg (1732/3) and Regulus (1743/4). The former was played at the Theatre in Goodman's Fields on January 13, 1735, but was apparently an utter failure. (Note 1) He was an actor at Drury Lane for most of his career.

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell was at a meeting in the Beefsteak Club on November 27, 1762, at which Havard was also present.
