General van Tuyll. (0-0) (aka. Belle's Uncle)

This is probably either Hendrik Reynoud van Tuyll van Serooskerken (1715-1799) or Hendrik Jacob van Tuyll van Serooskerken (b. 1719), both brothers of Diederik van Tuyll, Belle de Zuylen's father. I do not know which, if any, of them was a General. BiH identifies the General as being Hendrik Willem Jacob van Tuyll, Lieutenant-General of Cavalry. This suggests that he isn't even one of the two mentioned here - problem is, that they identify his wife as being Maria Anna Singendonck, who was apparently married (1759) to Hendrik Reynoud van Tuyll. ¹

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell "Supped elegant at Mademoiselle de Zuylen's with the General" on February 13, 1764, and, on April 13 of that year, apparently supped at the General's.
