BiographyWilliam Dance. (ca. 1755-0) (aka. Billy Dance) Son of James Dance and Mrs. Dance. He gained some fame as a musician. He may have been the William Dance (1755-1840) who co-founded the Royal Philharmonic Society, but if this is the case, then he had at least two brothers, Henry and George, none of whom are mentioned by Boswell. Life with James Boswell:
Boswell had obviously met him before when, on October 26, 1762, he visited Mrs. Dance and her son. He described him as "a boy of much genius [who] will probably be a man of distinction."
