BiographyChristian Heron. (ca. 1709-ca. 1780) (aka. Christian Stewart / Mrs. Stewart) Married to John Stewart. Mother of Margaret Stewart. Possibly a sister of Patrick Heron. Christian Heron was possibly a daughter of Patrick Heron, MP and Margaret McKie. (See notes) Life with James Boswell:
Boswell met Heron at Dumfries on October 5, 1762, describing her as "a very genteel well-bred woman who possesses the medium between forwardness and reserve that is seldom attained".
There seems to be some confusion as to the exact pedigree of the Heron's, namely Patrick and Christian. Whereas Christian seems to have been born in 1709, the daughter of a Patrick Heron and Margaret McKie, it is doubtful whether Patrick Heron (b. ca. 1735) is their son, as his mother would then have been about 60 at the time of his birth.
