George William Maxwell. (Aft. 1728-) (aka. Captain George)

Son of Hugh Maxwell, 3rd of Dalswinton and Jane (or Jean) Douglas, a daughter of Helen Erskine, Boswells mothers half-sister, and William Douglas, 2nd of Kelhead. Brother of William Maxwell. Married to Ann Handcock, dau of Peter Handcock of Twyning Manor. They had one son and four daughters before Maxwell was accidentally shot on their grounds in Twyning.
