Author of An Evening's Walk near the Royal Palace of Linlithgow, and probably a sometime army officer. Nothing else appears to be known about him.

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell met him and Macpherson at Erskine's on 19/6-1763. Pottle conjectures that Boswell admired him greatly, as Boswell's own first published poem was named An Evening Walk in the Abbey Church of Holyroodhouse. (LJ190663n4)
