Biography

John Spottiswoode. (-) (aka. Laird of Spottiswoode)

Laird of Spottiswoode (from 1728 until at least 1763). Son of John Spottiswoode (d. 1728) and Helen Arbuthnott (ca. 1675 - 1741). Half-brother (on mother's side) to Walter Macfarlane. Married (1740) to Mary Thomson (daughter of John Thomson of Charleton).

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell was with him at Macfarlane's in London on March 13, 1763.
