William O'Carroll. (-) (aka. Mr. Caroll)

Sometime secretary to the British envoy at Dresden, Philip Stanhope in the 1760s, and an Irish officer of the Marines.1

Life with James Boswell:

On October 10, 1764 Boswell described O'Carroll in his journal as an obliging sort of man, but very formal. He was just Mr. Carron at Utrecht in regimentals.
