Biography

Marianne de Chesne. (-) (aka. Madame Vattel)

A member of a French noble family who had settled in Saxony.1 In 1764 she married Emerich de Vattel at Dresden, with whom she had a son in January , 1765.

Life with James Boswell:

Boswell was introduced to her by her husband on October 9, 1764. He described her as a handsome young Polish lady. She was actually of French descendance.
